2014 Winter Lacrosse Clinics

High School Pre-Tryout Indoor Clinic - CLOSED
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

Stingers Lacrosse will host an indoor lacrosse clinic to help prepare girls planning to tryout for their High School teams this spring. 

Most area HS tryouts begin the first week of March.  The timing of this clinic is ideal to review, learn and identify the skills and traits HS coaches will evaluate during spring tryouts.

LEVEL:  High School Girls 9 -12 Grade

DATE: Monday, February 17, 2014 (Federal and MCPS holiday)

TIME: 2:00 – 4:00 PM

COST:  $50/player

LOCATION: Raiders Edge Indoor Training Facility, 8345 Beechcraft Ave, Suite I, Gaithersburg, MD 20879

What each player must have to participate:
  • Completed registration and waivers
  • Mouth guard
  • Girl’s Lacrosse Stick 
  • Lacrosse Goggles 
  • Sneakers /Athletic footwear
  • Something to take notes with; paper/pencil, Smartphone Notes App.
Clinic Schedule:
  • Player evaluation 
  • Skills review 
  • Speed and agility assessment
  • Review new and updated game rules
  • Drills for offensive and defensive skills 
  • 1v1, 3v2, 7v7 game play and assessment, corrections, and technique reinforcement

Beginners Girls Lacrosse Clinic - Concluded

Stingers Lacrosse will host a beginner’s indoor lacrosse clinic for youth girls grade 2 – 6 in Gaithersburg.

LEVEL:  New Players and Beginners

DATE: Monday, January 20, 2014 (Federal and MCPS holiday)

TIME: 2:00 – 4:00PM

COST:  $40/player

LOCATION: Raiders Edge Indoor Training Facility, 8345 Beechcraft Ave, Suite I, Gaithersburg, MD 20879

What each player must have to participate:

  • Completed registration and waivers
  • Mouth guard
  • Girl’s Lacrosse Stick (a limited supply of loaner sticks are available at no charge)
  • Lacrosse Goggle (a limited supply of goggles are available at no           charge)
  • Sneakers /Athletic Footwear

SPACE IS LIMITED TO ENSURE OPTIMAL PLAYER/COACH RATIO

Clinic Schedule:
  • Fun and interactive game overview covering field layout, game objectives, equipment, rules, positions and roles
  • Explain and demonstrate stick fundamentals:  Cradle, groundballs, passing and catching
  • We will teach  "take home" drills so that your daughter can work to improve stick skills on their own
  • Defensive skills and concepts
  • Teach and drill shooting on goal with power and accuracy
  • Run game situations where your daughters will play short field offense and defense scenarios.
All participants will leave with:
  • Greater understanding of the skills and game of lacrosse
  • Simple to follow home drill and wall ball guide
  • Embroidered Stingers Lacrosse Patch
  • A Stingers wristband
